When I started homeschooling, I had to study fear for the device. They bullied me because I do not adhere to a schedule or a book to tell me what to do. When we think it was pretty obvious that a structured school day was not great at work. I had to help my children learn, comfortable with the learning of the first studies and unity were a good way to do this.
Unit studies can be super simple. We started with just books and crafts. It was always a challenge, but we teach our children, safe and comfortable with learning, so we kept things. Our children were unfamiliar to us, so many books that we listen to books started far below their cognitive level and the fate of maturity. Here is an example of how such a study unit was working at the beginning:
We have a unit on birds, so we found picture books in the library to read for the first time. What you should do well no power doctrine in the pages of a picture book, and contained not want you to sell your child with them. Some children are not ready, the “age appropriate” pass books, even at the age of 13 years – to see what they know first what they get dressed. One thing I learned, that picture books are often the best and most relevant information. You can learn a lot from a picture book!
Do not be afraid to ask your children what they want. Let them go through the books that you have chosen for your device stack and choose which one they like best. Remember how difficult it is to learn something that you do not. Remember – not allowed to judge!
In parallel with the reading of books we’ve created a whole bird house outside the window of our dining room and watch the birds eat. Each child had his own set of binoculars and we have many walks – all the birds we saw and observed to see if we can detect something unusual. It was March, and the birds of spring have begun to migrate north, so it was very exciting.
The second week it went on to read, but we have to strengthen a number of activities and crafts, what we learned in books. We have nests “pretzels, made melted chocolate, marshmallows and peanuts. Of course we had the nests after talking about how birds they are building to eat. Lecker, we also ordered owls and dissected in the dining room table. Then we have the bones we Bristol found and tried to guess what the owl ate glue.
We have our device by visiting the bird observation room at our local State Park We stayed there all day and went hiking, bird stains and store them in a book beginner bird had the sticker. My children still remember, much of what we learned in this first unit of study.
